These days vegetables and fruits tend to have shorter life spans and easily perish due to adverse climatic conditions. It’s very difficult to keep fresh edible items to last for a longer time. Even dairy products require adequate low temperatures. However, fridges can serve to increase the shelf life of these food items and keep them hygienic. Also, during summer fridges are the great life savior in offering cold water. These days it’s easier to get refrigerator rentals in pune, according to our necessity. Here we shall discuss how the fridge works, and how it can maintain a low temperature by doubling the shelf life of edible items.

How do fridges work?

The fridge serves as the main home appliance in most of the kitchen. Even in restaurants it helps in keeping the food fresh without letting it get spoiled or rotten. If you get a washing machine on rent, then it works on a principle known as centripetal. Similarly, a fridge works on a principle called evaporation. Before we dive into its functionality, we shall know what components are present inside the fridge that make it work efficiently.

The fridge has a compressor that helps in creating pressure which results in increasing the temperature of the refrigerant. A condenser is used to decrease the temperature and turn the element cooler. It acts as a cooling agent in the fridge. Evaporator which maintains the temperature of the fridge and keeps it cool. Finally, a thermostat is fitted to look after the temperature and make quick decisions by controlling the compressor. The thermostat has a sensor that can detect the temperature.

  • The working of the fridge is very simple. Here the refrigerant is a chemical that can convert from gas to liquid and vice versa.
  • The refrigerant is evaporated which means the liquid is converted into gas and this creates a cool temperature inside the fridge.
  • The evaporation process is looked after by the compressor as it increases the temperature turning the state of liquid to gas. However, now the gas is of high pressure with higher temperature. This is detected by the thermostat which quickly informs the compressor to stop increasing the pressure.
  • To bring it to a cooler state, the condenser comes into the picture. It helps in reducing the temperature of the gas and turns it into liquid. The condenser is fitted outside the fridge where the gas temperature is dissipated to the environment and helps in the cooling process. Once the temperature is dropped, the refringent comes back to a liquid state and again it is ready to undergo the same cycle. Now the liquid returns to the evaporator section and the compressor turns on and the cycle is repeated. This process keeps the fridge cool.

Conclusion

The above was a detailed working of the fridge which is used in our homes. The working principle is very simple and takes place at a higher rate. If you get a water purifiers on rent in mumbai, then it has its working principle like a fridge has evaporation.
